Sponsor a child today and step into a life-changing connection.
For under a $1 a day, you can transform a child’s life by providing basic necessities we so much take for granted. Hands of Hope Ministries Child Sponsorship offers you a unique opportunity to connect with a specific child in need. Child Sponsorship is one of the most effective ways to fight poverty.
Your support will provide
Clean water means life.
The western world often takes clean water for granted. People turn the tap on and there it is. In some third world countries, it is not that easy and they either walk for miles to get clean water or try and live without it.
For children and families living in poverty, clean water can be life-changing. For example, it can protect them from waterborne disease and provide basic sanitation. This gives children the opportunity to stay healthy and attend school
Nutritional Food
Healthy nutritional meals are important for a child’s development. In poor environments, children often eat too little of what they need – fruit, vegetables, and meat, and too much of what they don’t – sweets, and cheap junk food – just to have the feeling of a full belly. At Hands of Hope Ministries, we aim to provide health meals at our school as well as to those who need them in the community.
Healthcare
We make certain that the most vulnerable people have access to healthcare. Children and their families have the right to enjoy long and healthy lives. We partner with local health centres, run medical and dental missions, health and hygiene seminars, and train local volunteers to bring healthcare services closer to people.
Education has the power to transform a child’s future.
Children in impoverished communities study in rundown buildings which are often inaccessible during the rainy season. The result? Poor lesson quality, mediocre grades, and high dropout rates.
Our main objective is to help the poor and the underprivileged in attaining quality education. We seek to establish an educational environment where the poor and underprivileged can succeed in mathematics, sciences and other subjects that help them fight their economic conditions. Christian principles underpin the fabric of the environment encouraging those who attend to develop a love for God. A donation here will help maintain the school facilities and equipment. Ensuring it’s a good place for kids to learn – something that is lacking within the poorer areas of the Philippines.
Clothing
It is not usual to see to children in torn clothing and/or clothes with massive holes in them in the villages. A portion of the money donors give when sponsoring a child goes to, firstly, their school uniform, and secondly, casual everyday clothing. During Christmas celebrations, we also hand out clothing items as gifts. The kids love it.
Spiritual Nurture
Our aim is to fulfil the ‘Great Commission’ (Matt.28: 18-20) and go and ‘make disciples’. When people make a commitment to follow Jesus, we supply them with a Bible (around $6) as people respond to Jesus every week and are hungry for God’s Word, but they have no money to buy one. We also supply people with Daily Bread and other discipleship materials.
