Our Call

Shortly after a two-week mission trip to the Philippines in 2009 Duane & Jenny Newport established Hands of Hope Ministries. It was during this visit that they felt the call of God to return to the Philippines long term. Through a series of divine encounters, they ended up in Agoo, La Union.

The purpose of Hands of Hope Ministries is twofold:

The message of the Gospel shows that the poor are valuable in the eyes of God. Our vision is to see the areas in which we work transformed to God’s Kingdom values in all aspects and at all levels of society, bringing freedom and healing to people living in poverty.

Hands of Hope Ministries Today

During our 10 years in the Philippines we were blown away with the generosity and support of so many. It enabled us to build a full elementary school (Hands of Hope Faith Academy – Click Here for more info), plant churches, raise leaders, run seminars, sponsor high school and college students and buy extra land to secure the ministry for many generations us to come.

Though we are we are back in New Zealand and Covid is preventing us from returning, the work in the Philippines goes from strength to strength. Hands of Hope Faith Academy’s enrolment is almost at maximum and our leadership continues to reach out and plant more churches. It’s exciting to see and be a part of.
